Privacy
LCD will take all reasonable steps to ensure that your data is kept securely and to respect the information privacy of all visitors to the site. The site and its agents use up-to-date security technology features and procedures.

LCD is the data controller of all personal information collected from the site.

LCD uses a secure server when you make a donation via the site

If you use standard e-mail for communication with LCD, this will not be protected and you should be aware that LCD cannot guarantee that it remains confidential whilst in transit. All e-mail sent to LCD will be monitored and checked to ensure its systems operate effectively.

Ecard Terms & Conditions

PLEASE READ THESE TERMS ('TERMS') CAREFULLY BEFORE SUBMITTING YOUR REQUEST FOR AN E-CARD AND RETAIN A COPY OF THESE TERMS AND YOUR REQUEST FOR FUTURE REFERENCE.

1.1 The E-card service is provided by Aardman Animations Limited under company number 02050843 whose principal place of business is at Gas Ferry Road, Bristol, BS1 6UN and accessible via the website www.aardman.com ('Site') ('we/us').

1.2 No contract exists between you and us for the provision of any of our services ('Services') until we have received and accepted your request.

1.3 By accepting these Terms you are consenting to the immediate provision of the Services by us to you. Accordingly, you will have no right to cancel the provision of the Services under the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000 (as amended).

2. DESCRIPTION OF THE SERVICES

2.1 The description of the Services you order will be as shown on the Site at the time you place your order.

3. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

3.1 When submitting messages to us using our Services, you agree by the following:

4.1 The Services you ordered will be delivered to the e-mail address you gave when you submitted the details for your order. Whilst every effort will be made to deliver your e-card, the Service cannot be guaranteed.

5. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS

5.1 All intellectual property rights, including copyright and trade marks, in any works provided through the Services or otherwise specifically at the request and expense of you shall belong exclusively to us and we grant to you a non-exclusive, royalty-free, non-transferable licence to use such works solely for the purposes described on our website at the time you place your order.

5.2 Except as expressly authorised by us or relevant third parties, you agree not to copy, download, adapt, alter, modify, rent, lease, loan, sell, distribute or create derivative works of any content of any works provided through the Services, in whole or in part.

6. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

6.1 You acknowledge that we do not endorse and are not responsible for the accuracy or reliability of any opinion, advice or statement made through the use of the Services and such communications shall not be considered reviewed, screened, or approved by us.

6.2 We do not warrant the content, accuracy or veracity of any or message sent when using the Services. You acknowledge that the individual person posting sending the communication is responsible for the content of the message.

6.3 To the extent permitted by law, and except in respect of death or personal injury arising from negligence, we exclude any liability for loss or damage of any kind resulting from the use of the Services.

7. SANCTIONS

7.1 We reserve the right to deny, at our sole discretion, your access to the Services without reason or notice, in the event of any breach of these Terms.

7.2 We also reserve the right to suspend your use of the Services where you break these terms or the law.

7.3 We reserve the right to refer any matter to a law enforcement agency or court of competent jurisdiction, where, in our reasonable opinion, we consider a matter is of a criminal or illegal nature.

8. PRIVACY

8.1 By using this service, you signify your consent to the collection and use of personal information as detailed here.

8.2 When using this Service we will collect the details submitted in order to send the e-card and guard against any potential misuse of this Service. We will not sell, distribute or disclose your personal details to other third party organisations. Your personal information will be kept on our secure database. The details will not be used to contact these individuals by us, Leonard Cheshire or any 3rd party. You may also verify your personal information that is on record at Aardman. Note that information such as mailing addresses is only maintained for a period of time necessary to provide the Service to you and will usually be deleted within a period of 24 hours.

8.3 We do not seek to collect personal information from children. Please note that we cannot determine that a user is a child.

8.4 Aggregate reports for web site visitors are generated by us, however these reports do not contain any personally identifiable information. When visiting any internet site your unique address called an "IP address" is recorded. We archive log files of this information in order to create aggregate statistical reports, detect errors at the web site and for security reasons. The log files are usually deleted within 3 months. We do not release any information about the collection of this address to any third party except under court order.

8.5 Cookies are used in various areas of this site. The information is only used to allow proper functioning of those pages. No cookies are downloaded from third party servers. Information on how to disable cookies can be found at www.cookiecentral.com

9. GENERAL INFORMATION

9.1 These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and us. An electronic copy of this contract will be stored by us and be available upon request upon payment of an administration fee, but you should take a copy for your own records.

9.2 Any failure by us to exercise or enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision.

9.3 We reserve the right to vary these Terms without notice to you in relation to future sales. Your continued use of the Site after any variation of these Terms shall constitute your acceptance of them.

9.4 You can correct any information about you, or ask for information about you to be deleted, by giving written notice to our Customer Services at the address or email address shown below.
